My Journey Wendy Adams Art

Creating vivid landscapes inspired by Victoria’s high country and outback Australia, where nature’s moods shape every brushstroke. As with a lot of people, my art career began in covid. I was living in a caravan park. I am building a Tiny house to live in when I was not working. The hardware store loved seeing people who were building things. When this was almost complete, I was having a nice coffee and talking to one of my neighbours. It came up in conversation when I was discussing painting the inside of my tiny house.
This beautiful lady in her 70s said to me ' I paint abstract' and I said I would love it if you could get my friend Kellie inspired to paint as she is a natural artist and is wasting her talent doing paint by numbers. Oh! and I will come for support her.
Lorraine, my teacher and guide said 'yes'. We made a date for the three of us to get together and we were all keen to get started on our painting journey. She had a huge easel, and lots of bushes and beautiful vibrant paint colours to choose from. Any my friend Kellie came, and the three of us provided support to each other. At the end of the lesson, I was hooked.
Each time I had a chance to paint, I would and then I would go over to Lorraine's and have a chat about what was good in my painting and what could be improved. I was amazed on how much I could learn from this lovely lady.
Today, I look back and think - what a wonderful way to start, by having a couple of friends get together have a chat, talk about art, pictures, and life in general. The things that make us happy.
I live in Victoria's high country, I love the mountain views, fresh air and the kind generosity of neighbours and visitors. It inspires me every morning how wonderful it is to live here. If you could wake up after the rain, take a breath and smell that fresh air, your heart is full of love and rejuvenation.
My love of all things Australian is what I most enjoy painting. Whether it be landscapes, lakes & rivers, buildings, the outback, and the people, I love the stories and travel experiences they give to me.
